Watchman Nee and Witness Lee continued their labor in the Lord's ministry together, and the Lord continued to reveal more to them from the Bible, particularly regarding the church and the Body of Christ. Watchman Nee compiled this revelation in a book entitled The Normal Christian Life.

During the period of World War II there were revivals in a number of the local churches through the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Due to the threat of Communism, however, Watchman Nee sent Witness Lee to Taiwan in 1949 to carry on the development and spread of the Lord's recovery. Witness Lee's last contact with Watchman Nee was in early 1950. From that time until Watchman Nee's death in 1972 following nearly 20 years of imprisonment, Witness Lee received only occasional, indirect news regarding Watchman Nee from his relatives.
